Bearing Witness
The lived experience of receiving, delivering, or witnessing care.
Ethos EM invites submissions for its inaugural issue, bringing emergency medicine and the health humanities together through scholarship and stories.
We welcome original research, non-fiction, fiction, poetry, and visual arts that explore what it means to experience, deliver, or bear witness to acute, unscheduled care.
Contributions should engage with at least one of the journal’s four pillars:
The lived experience of receiving, delivering, or witnessing care.
The inequities, structures, and systems that shape care.
How professional identities form and evolve amid change.
How the health humanities shape clinicians, education, and patient care.
Review the guidelines for your category, then submit through the Ethos EM website. Each category has a review path suited to its form.
For the journal’s first three years of publication, published work is free to read and authors pay no submission fee or article-processing charge.
